Ryder Cup Home International Event Rules

Temporary Rules for this competition only.

Avoidance of slow play

In order to keep up the place of play, please adopt the following:

  1. If you lose a ball, and it is not immediately visible on first look, for a one-shot penalty you may drop one on the fairway at the nearest point where the ball went into the rough/heather/bushes/trees.

  2. You may help a fellow competitor look for a ball, but only if it is in the vicinity of your ball – i.e. not on the opposite side of the fairway.

  3. Play ready golf, no need to wait to play in order of distance from the pin.

  4. If you have played too many shots to score points, please pick up immediately and record NR for that hole – this is a non-qualifying round, so your scores do not matter for handicap purposes.
