Ryder Cup Home International Event Rules
Temporary Rules for this competition only.
Avoidance of slow play
In order to keep up the place of play, please adopt the following:
- If you lose a ball, and it is not immediately visible on first look, for a one-shot penalty you may drop one on the fairway at the nearest point where the ball went into the rough/heather/bushes/trees.
- You may help a fellow competitor look for a ball, but only if it is in the vicinity of your ball – i.e. not on the opposite side of the fairway.
- Play ready golf, no need to wait to play in order of distance from the pin.
- If you have played too many shots to score points, please pick up immediately and record NR for that hole – this is a non-qualifying round, so your scores do not matter for handicap purposes.
